PICC Quarantine Facility Finished in Only 7 Days

The quarantine facility at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) has been completed in only seven days. According to Build, Build, Build Committee chairman Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, the facility finished construction three days ahead of schedule.
The government is currently converting large venue spaces into COVID-19 facilities through public-private partnerships. PICC’s conversion was headed by the Department of Public Works and Highways, EEI Corp., and Villar Group of Companies.
According to Lamentillo, PICC will be able to accommodate a maximum of 294 COVID-19 patients, and each cubicle is outfitted with a nurse call button.
Meanwhile, construction at the World Trade Center Quarantine Facility is still underway as DPWH and the Ayala Group fast-track its progress.
Ninoy Aquino Stadium has already completed its construction, while the Philippine Arena medical facility is still in development.
