Rival Supermarkets Show Love for Each Other in Viral Facebook Thread
The country’s biggest supermarket chains are each other’s toughest competitors, but in this time of crisis, they've shown a gesture of solidarity with one another.
It started with a Facebook post by WalterMart Supermarket. In the post, it commended all supermarket employees who risk their health to serve the public. It tagged SM Markets, Gaisano Supermarket, Shopwise, Robinsons Supermarket, Puregold, and Rustan’s Supermarket.
Robinsons, SM, and Puregold responded immediately, thanking WalterMart while tagging all their competitors.
Supermarket employees are some of the most vulnerable frontliners in the battle against COVID-19. Since the enhanced community quarantine, they have been waking up earlier and going home late because of the lack of transportation and the need to disinfect supermarkets after they close for the night.
