Guanzon: Why Would I Ask Gonzales to Withdraw If He Cannot Even Get It Up?

“Bakit ko siya ipapa-withdraw if he cannot even get it up!”
That was the reaction of former Comelec commissioner Rowena Guanzon when she was ambushed for a quick reaction to claims she was behind calls for presidential aspirant Norberto Gonzales to withdraw his candidacy.
Giggling, Guanzon had to clarify her statement, saying “He cannot get it up—the numbers! Zero siya eh!”
Gonzales scored zero in the March 2022 Pulse Asia survey across all locations and social classes.
“Bakit naman ako magpapa-withdraw ng zero? Ang labo, ang labo!” said Guanzon.
In a tweet on April 19, 2022, Guanzon also denied she asked Gonzales to withdraw before the controversial Easter press conference.
But upon fact-checking, Esquire Philippines discovered Guanzon made a previous tweet telling Gonzales he will be a hero if he withdraws in favor of Vice President Leni Robredo:
Norberto Gonzales served as secretary of national defense and national security adviser under former president Gloria Arroyo. In 2018, Gonzales made headlines when he said the Filipinos should prepare for China’s invasion of the Philippines. If elected President, Gonzales plans to overhaul the Department of Agriculture to ensure food security.
