UST Is the First University in the Philippines to Receive QS 5-Star Rating

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) has become the first university in the Philippines to receive the coveted five-star Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rating. QS is one of the world’s most trusted analytics companies providing data on the world’s top universities. It also provides a list of the world’s most competitive universities in the annual QS World University Rankings.
QS gave UST five stars in the areas of Teaching, Employability, Internalization, and Facilities. The university received four stars for Academic Development and three stars for Arts and Culture and Inclusiveness.
The university was also recognized for its Doctor of Medicine program, which received five stars for the Specialist Criteria.
“University facilities, including student services, were rated with five stars. The presence of medical services, accommodation facilities, sports facilities, and student societies and associations were rated,” UST said in a statement.
QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at an institution, allowing the public to identify which universities are the best in specific areas.
Universities are awarded an overall Star result, which ranges from 0 to 5+ Stars, depending on the number of points achieved through the evaluation.
