Pasig City PIO Isn't Happy About Mayor Vico Sotto's Spoilers on Twitter
Select cities are on a roll in terms of providing their citizens the best service possible. One such city is Pasig City, led by Mayor Vico Sotto, who has been dedicated to providing assistance to Pasig City residents as best as they can. The local government unit has been pushing all sorts of initiatives, including a mysterious countdown that leads to a surprise for local residents on Friday, November 13.
The countdown posts are uploaded on the official page of Pasig City's Public Information Office (PIO) every day, which got Pasig locals curious about what the surprise could be.
One curious netizen took the initiative to ask the mayor on Twitter about what the countdown on Pasig City's PIO posts is about. It seems being transparent is second nature to the mayor as he nonchalantly replies to satisfy the netizen's inquiry, "Ah lighting lang nung Christmas lights may konting virtual program."
Another netizen joined in on the thread and joked that he spoiled the surprise. "Mayor basag trip sinabi agad," the netizen wrote.
It seems that Pasig City's PIO has caught wind of Mayor Vico spoiling their surprise, so for the next countdown post, they added a short note at the end that low-key sends tampo vibes: "Anim na araw na lang! Excited na para sa 11/13/2020? Tumutok sa Facebook Page ng PIO para sa updates, pwede rin sa Twitter ni Mayor Vico Sotto for spoilers!"
The said countdown post has gotten more than 3,000 likes already. But don't worry, all is good between the PIO Facebook page and the mayor, as suggested by their latest countdown post.
The 31-year-old public official has been praised on social media for his transparency as well as for refusing to take credit for the efforts of the local goverment. After the general assembly with Pasig City scholars via Zoom, the city mayor took to Twitter to remind the scholars that, while he appreciates everyone's gratitude towards him, they shouldn't have to feel indebted to politicians for receiving a part of the government's efforts to use taxpayers' money justly. "Mag-aral lang kayo nang mabuti, sulit na ang investment ng Pasig sa inyo."
