The Very Latest on the Florida High School Shooting

Police report at least 14 people are injured.

Sheriff's deputies are responding to an active shooter situation at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida. Local police have confirmed at least 14 people have been shot and there are fatalities. The gunman is in custody and is being transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. He has been identified as 18-year-old Nicolas Cruz, a former student at the school.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, it would be the 30th mass shooting since January 1.
