All The Best Dressed Men At The Golden Globes 2019

Last night the Golden Globes kicked off awards season proper, which means a chance for Hollywood's best and brightest to get the black tie out and show exactly how much more interesting, handsome, and glamorous they are than the rest of us mere mortals. We've pulled together the best looks of the night here.
1| Timothee Chalamet
The breakout ensemble this year was Chalamet in Virgil Abloh's harness for Louis Vuitton—although, actually, if we're being totally accurate, the brand refers to it as a 'bib'—on top of a grandad-collar shirt. Excellent.
2| Mahershala Ali
Finding a new spin on the tux isn't that difficult is it? Get one in midnight blue, add a nice scarf, Bob's your uncle—you're on the best-dressed lists. Maybe it's easier if you're very handsome and in True Detective.
3| John Krasinski
John Krasinki’s transformation since the early days of the Office has been inspirational. It’s not that he was ever a bad looking guy, but now look at him: a bona fide Hollywood leading man, decked out in Brunello Cucinelli and Christian Laboutin.
4| Rami Malek
Malek's Givenchy tux is as classic Hollywood as it gets, while the white tie's a neat little nod to Freddie Mercury's opera phase while neatly sidestepping the enormous trousers and flappy lapels that also came with it.
5| Richard Madden
It's going to be hard for Madden to get through awards season without looking like he's auditioning for Bond on every red carpet, and, to be fair, he's not helping himself with this swish velvet tux. Just send a CV, Richard—everyone else does.
6| Jeff Bridges
Bridges went full-Dude in his lifetime achievement award speech—we're all trim tabs, apparently—but his three-piece Brioni tux is the look of a man who means business.
7| Spike Lee
Look into Spike's eyes. He knows he's the only man alive who could wear a purple Versace tux, purple satin shirt and purple beret with a gold crucifix, gold glasses, and gold boots. You're looking at 30 years of brand-building coming to fruition.
8| Ben Whishaw
The sharply contemporary silhouette of this Alexander McQueen suit does most of the work here. Nice to see the air tie get a run out too, which stops the whole thing feeling cluttered. Very savvy to think ahead and get a ring which matches your Golden Globes statuette too.
9| Dave Franco
Always smiling, Dave, isn’t he? He’s a happy camper, and you would be too if you had this embroidered velvet Saint Laurent tuxedo in your wardrobe.
10| Idris Elba
Idris Elba is bored of the ‘Bond’ question, and knows that following the traditional black tie dress code will only encourage us. Maybe that’s why he opted for this printed green suit, which he pulled off with predictable ease.
11| Michael B. Jordan
Michael B. Jordan has lost a bit of muscle since his glorious summer of swole, but it’s had no impact on his sartorial prowess. The Black Panther star ruled the red carpet in a double-breasted Burberry tux.
12| Finn Wittrock
You might well look pleased with yourself, Finn Wittrock from The Assassination of Gianni Versace: this all-black Saint Laurent outfit is very, very, very nice indeed.
