7 Easy (and Cool!) Halloween Costumes Even Lazy Guys Can Nail

How to get through the holiday without looking or feeling like a child.

For a lot of guys, the very notion of dressing up for Halloween often inspires waves of anxiety. Costumes, after all, are for kids and theater folk, and makeup and masks are more cumbersome than enjoyable. Nevertheless, Halloween is still a big night for childless adults, and you don't want to be the buzzkill who refuses to join in.

The trick, then, is to find a costume that requires minimal effort, and keeps you from feeling awkward and vulnerable should you have to walk a distance further than 20 feet between the front door and your car in the driveway. Here are seven great costume ideas—many of which you can probably find in your closet—that fit the bill.

1| Baby Driver

It doesn’t really matter that no one saw this movie. The inspiration is memorable from previews and movie posters alone. A contrast sleeve varsity jacket, dark sunglasses, and Apple headphones are all you need.

2| Generalized Stylish Tennis Player

Call it Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, or Renee Lacoste, dressing up as a stylish player is as easy as it is comfortable. All you need are some high socks, a track jacket, and a headband.

3| Jack Nicholson in Chinatown

J.J. Gittes is easy but still recognizable. Just a hat, overcoat, and some white tape across your nose, and you’re basically Jack Nicholson himself.

4| Marty McFly

A denim jacket and puffy red vest make for an accurate McFly costume, and also work for your fall wardrobe.

5| Reservoir Dogs

All you need is a black suit. Seriously. Add a skinny black tie and a pair of sunglasses to really drive it home.

6| Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski

Grow your hair out, get a beard, and wear this very, very good sweater.

7| BoJack Horseman

The most costume-y of costumes: a horse’s head. Although you probably can’t re-wear this one.
