Filipino hoops fans will remember this weekend as the time that back-to-back NBA champion and Finals MVP Kevin Durant came to our home country to talk basketball and shoot some hoops. It's not often that we get superstars of his stature to swing by, so Durant's visit has been met with much excitement and fanfare.

Apart from the show he put on and the stories he told, one noticeable aspect of Durant's visit is the sneaker he wore. It was a pair of his latest signature model: the KD 11, in a delicious-looking 'Peach Jam' colorway. Check it out:

And lastly, some history: The colorway commemorates the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Peach Jam, an annual event held at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Carolina. It's meant to serve as a national recruiting showcase featuring the best high school basketball players from across the States and Canada.

It began in 1996 as the "Peach Basket Classic," with a name that referenced the invention of basketball (the very first hoops were peach baskets). The event returned in 1997 as the Nike Peach Jam, and in its early years, saw the rise of a very young Dirk Nowitzki.

The KD line has had EYBL colorways for most of its numbered models, including the KD 4 and th KD 5 Elite. But this latest iteration has to be the best: a candy-like bright orange-pink knit upper with pops of soft, almost minty neon green. And it's even more collectible when you consider that it marks his visit to Manila.

Titan released the Nike KD 11 'Peach Jam' the same day that Durant himself was here, so this colorway is especially covetable for his Filipino fans. They retail for PHP7,645 at Titan and select Nike retailers. Act fast.
