This New Adidas Watch Was Made Specifically for Night Owls

This spring, Adidas brought back an old-school classic with a big-time twist. The Nite Jogger was originally released in 1980 and designed for, well...night jogging. The 2019 version takes that idea and expands it. The sneaker's reflective elements and pops of neon mean it's highly visible, but it's made for more than just running—thanks to its retro-modern silhouette and Boost midsole, it's really a shoe that's supposed to bridge the gap between action and creation.

In other words, the design crew at Adidas won't be offended if you decide that, instead of a late-night 5K, you'd rather opt for a late-night review of that website you're launching with a creative partner a couple thousand miles away. That's why the Three Stripes decided to launch a complement to the sneaker silhouette: the Archive R2 Nite Jogger watch.

The digital timepiece features a split display that'll show you two timezones—all the better to check in on that website—as well as more traditional digital functions like a calendar and a stopwatch. The strap, as a nod to the shoe that inspired it, is covered in reflective material that illuminates at night.

"The Archive R2 Nite Jogger speaks to our creator ethos and #247365 mentality," Simon Nicholls, global brand manager for Adidas Watches, says. "We wanted to create a style that celebrates hard work, creativity, and passion. The new Archive R2 Nite Jogger timepiece is inspired for the late-night hustle and creative pursuits no matter the hour."  The watch is available now and retails for $150. How late you want to stay up while wearing it? That's your call.
