Adidas Is Making Vegan Versions of Its Most Popular Sneakers

Sustainability is one of the (many) challenges that the clothing industry is facing today and even a brand like Adidas is adapting by creating more eco-friendly, vegan versions of its popular shoe styles.
Top Story: Who Are the Descendants of Our Heroes Today?
With the Our Icons Go Vegan pack, Adidas has given two of its iconic sneakers—the Samba and the Continental 80—a vegan update with all parts made without any use of animal-based materials.
Instead, both vegan versions use PU-coated recycled polyester upper that, according to Adidas, is "all about doing good while feeling good." Sounds good to us. In the end, you're still getting the same shoe with, you know, sustainable plus points.

The Continental 80 gets a special midsole produced from an algae-based EVA foam that reduces the carbon footprint of the shoes even more. The same material has been used to clean lake water as part of its production process.
