This Adidas-LEGO Collab is a Throwback to the '80s
WE can imagine the planning meeting for this shoe. German shoe giant adidas goes, “Okay, how many colors do you want?” And then Danish toy company LEGO replies, “All of them.”
We can’t argue with the end result, though. The adidas Originals ZX 8000 LEGO keeps a tasteful design, thanks to the solid neutrals of those textured uppers. The base ZX 8000 silhouette has been around since the late ‘80s, so you know you’re getting a classic pair of kicks inside the box.
It’s in the accents — the laces, the heel counter, the sole, the midsole, the toecap, even the borders around adidas’ signature Three Stripes — that the collaboration really went crazy. Strong primary colors, representing the bright hues of LEGO blocks, offer a rich contrast that make this shoe even more eye-catching.
Adidas even incorporates LEGO’s signature brick studs in the design. Even the sole looks like your feet could get locked in place when you step on a big enough brick.
The shoe will be released on September 25. We’ve reached out to adidas Philippines to ask if there are any plans for a local launch. We will update this post when we get a reply.

LEGO teased the collab with a YouTube video last week. LEGO being LEGO, it looked awesome.
