Adidas adds Boost technology to the Stan Smith
It was only a matter of time before it happened, really: adidas has taken its original best-selling sneaker and added its most-coveted sole technology. And the results are... actually quite nice.
The new and improved Stan Smith Boost takes the classic low-profile and minimalist design of the ubiquitous tennis shoe; adding that textured, spongey Boost sole that has been one of the brand's biggest selling point in recent years.
Debuted in 2014, Boost is a cloud-like sole-unit that was originally designed for running shoes, but has since been used in everything from basketball shoes to lifestyle sneakers; with Kanye West's Yeezy line its most famous advocate.
In theory, Boost is meant to make your run smooth and comfortable, but like Nike Air Max before it, the technology's greatest popularity has come from people who want to wear sneakers that look cool.
And who can blame them...
Certainly not us.
