The Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Salt Drops Today, and It's the Right-Now Sneaker We Want

We wouldn't classify the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Salt into any of the hot-right-now styles in the world of sneakerdom. It is not quite an ugly sneaker (gone are the lip-like soles of previous Yeezys) or a dad sneaker or a retro sneaker, but instead it is an intersection of all those things—sort of like a compromise.
It is as if Ye asked himself, “What if ugly, dad, and old were friends?” And so he gave us something easy, something friendly—a shoe for the people, if you will.
Because look at it:
That's a pleasant collection of whites right there. Officially, the style is called "Salt," but really it's a spectrum of beige, gray, snow, and stone with just a touch of black in its gum sole. Then, you get the familiar cozy stylings of a retro shape. And it has the right amount of chunk for people who like that sort of that thing, too.
Lean in to the dad style and wear this with a cap and light-colored jeans or pair it with a suit and head into work. It'll work both ways because it's not too crazy (like Ye).
The shoe drops at 10 am today at the local Adidas website for a cool P16,000. But if you are a real dad, an old person who does not trust the Interwebz, you will be glad to know that these are also available at a brick-and-mortar store, too. Head on over to the Adidas Originals shop in BGC. Don't break a hip.
