First The Air Jejomar, Now The Air Rap, And We Don't Even Know Anymore

Politicos are pulling some sneaky moves.

What are those, you ask?

Why, they're the signature sneakers of former president and convicted plunderer Joseph Estrada, of course! And while "Air Plunder" or "Air Rap" would've been great names, they've already been dubbed them the "Erap All-Stars." If you squint hard enough, they look absolutely nothing like Converse's Chuck Taylor All-Stars, because according to the Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada Facebook page, Erap himself designed them ("Mismong sariling disenyo ng ating Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.")

The same page reported on Tuesday, April 24, that 1,500 honor students in the city of Manila would be receiving these shoes, plus a cash prize, from the city government at an awarding ceremony this Thursday afternoon. It was also announced that they would be giving a pair of Erap All-Stars to each of the 280,000 students of Manila City public schools, "sometime in May."

So it looks like the Air Jejomar finally has some competition, and sneaker bribery is officially a thing in the political arsenal of Metro Manila's city governments. What a time to be alive.
