The holiday season comes with its requisites: joy, presents, and an opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. But for stylish heathens, the most important part is the month-long break from warm weather. Now that it’s relatively cold out, you’re finally going to get to layer up with the unworn jackets that have been sitting in your wardrobe over the last 10 or so months. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

And now that you get to dress for cooler weather, you might want to take some cues from the cast of Mike de Leon's Citizen Jake, including real-life handsome person Atom Araullo as the titular character, Cholo Barretto, Luis Alandy, and Gabby Eigenmann. While the movie isn’t out yet (the most recent update is that a release date will be announced in January), the official Citizen Jake Facebook page has let us in on a lot of stills featuring their characters. From what we’ve seen, it looks like much attention was paid to dressing the cast in stylish clothes that are weather-appropriate for Baguio, where the film is set.

The film also seems to have a penchant for military jackets and earth tones, which feel appropriate to its militant themes. Jake himself wears at least two kinds of military blousons, while Gabby Eigenmann’s character, Roxie, wears a Vietnam War-era M-65 jacket that’s especially noteworthy:

If there’s anything you can pick up from what little we’ve seen of
Citizen Jake and its costume design, it’s that you can’t go wrong with classic menswear staples for moderately cold-weather layering. Now, if only we could actually see the film and get a better look at all the clothes.
