Handcrafted in Yamagata, Japan, the G-SHOCK MR-G pays homage to traditional Japanese design elements by employing tsu-i-ki, a traditional metalworking technique. This is Bihou Asano, a third-generation master metal craftsman from Kyoto, who’s dedicated himself to restoring and reproducing Japan’s National Treasure metal artworks. Asano collaborated with Casio on this 20th anniversary timepiece out of an appreciation for the watchmaker’s vision. Impressive.
Asano employed his well-honed hammering technique to carefully shape the bezel and band of every single one of the only 300 timepieces available worldwide.
