Boss Teams Up With Artist Jeremyville for a Playful New Holiday Collection
A pig, a bunny, and a stork walk into a bar… For Australian artist Jeremyville, this is not the setup to a joke, but his version of what a holiday cityscape should look like. It’s also the subject of a new, limited-edition capsule collection from the artist’s collaboration with Boss.
To celebrate the 2018 holiday season, Jeremyville has created a lineup of four quirky cartoon characters—including his iconic bunny, a pig to celebrate the Chinese New Year, a stork, and Christmas tree come to life—and plugged them into a bustling fictional metropolis, where they take on various holiday preparations. Scenes and characters from this world are then spread throughout a lineup of clothes and accessories, which include tees, jackets, bags, shoes, and even an iPhone case.
For those unfamiliar with the Bondi Beach-born artist, he began as an illustrator for the Sydney Morning Herald before setting his sights on the art world. Since then, his distinctive cartoon style has captured audiences all over the world, and his work has appeared in museums and galleries in New York, Madrid, Beijing, Tokyo, and more.
These days he runs a design, creative strategy, and production company called Studio Jeremyville, which he co-founded alongside creative director Megan Mair, that produces and develops art-driven projects for clients all over the globe. As for his collaboration with boss, it’s the perfect marriage of sleek and whimsical that makes for a stylishly fun and, in this age of bold prints and graphics, an actually easy-to-wear holiday collection. Here are some of our favorites.
When it comes to jackets, it’s hard to find anything more versatile than a simple black bomber. That said, sometimes it can be a little too simple. This version livens up the staid classic by adding a subtle Jeremyville print to the fabric (it's reversible, so turn inside out for the bolder look).
Go loud or go subtle with two versions of the Boss x Jeremyville graphic tee. First up is a white version that features a full spread of the cartoon cityscape in bright, vibrant color. The second is a version in black that features the same graphics, only outlined in white. One for the office, one for letting loose on the weekend.
For those looking to get in on the Jeremyville action but who really don’t want their clothes to do too much talking, here's your move. A classic black cotton pique Boss polo, the shirt also features a small leather patch with one of the four characters on the upper left chest.
The Print Button-Up
Surely by now you’re aware that we’re living in the Age of the Bold-Print Shirt. That makes this graphic long-sleeve button-up perfect for, well, damn near anything. Pair it with a sleek blazer for something a bit more sophisticated, or go full street style with sneakers and a pair of stonewashed jeans.
Whether you like bold graphics or something a little more dialed-down, the Boss x Jeremyville collection has a backpack to suit your needs. In this version, the individual Jeremyville characters are featured in relief on either black or red pebble-grain leather.
On the other, the wild, cartoon-style cityscape is printed across “HB” monogrammed coated-canvas.If you’ve been looking for a backpack that’s a little more eye-catching than your standard Jansport, this is it.
