The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève is a big deal. Created in 2001 as a way to promote the very best in watchmaking, it rewards eye-wateringly complex watches on the grounds of craftsmanship, exclusivity, and prestige, and this year's winner was no exception.

The recipient of 2018's Aiguille d’Or was the Récital 22 Grand Récital, a tourbillon from Swiss manufacture Bovet. But this is no ordinary tourbillon. The watch itself gives wearers a view of the world as seen from above Bovet's HQ in Môtiers, with a three-dimensional moon traveling around the globe and a sun represented by a flying tourbillon.

The case, which is available in red gold or platinum, clocks in at a mighty 46mm diameter, and further houses a perpetual calendar to the back, and a visible measurement of hour, day, month, and leap year in corresponding windows.

Of course, this is a piece with an extremely limited production run. Contact Bovet directly to register interest.
