Attention ARMY: The BTS Pop-Up in SM Megamall Has Been Extended

The BTS Pop-Up: Map of the Soul at SM Megamall is extended until October 31 due to popular demand. If you’ve heard their song Dynamite, this extension is followed by a special release of new merchandise called the TinyTAN collection, inspired by the hit disco-pop single. Whether you’re a full-fledged ARMY, a casual listener, or even just an active social media user; BTS is no stranger to the world of pop culture connoisseurs. 

While you can’t cop their outfits, copy off their skincare routines, or figure out their hair color shades in the store, there are a lot of other BTS merchandise to explore, whether you're ARMY or not. With Christmas just around the corner, the pop-up store extension may be useful as an added stop to your gift shopping itinerary. The merchandise line is so wide and colorful that there’s practically something to get for everyone. 

There are reusable tumblers, bottle openers, or puzzles, or t-shirts and shorts, and even office table fixtures like mousepads, cable tie sets, and notebooks.

If you’re registering to vote for the national elections at SM Megamall or just out for the usual errands, you may drop by the store located at the Third Level of Mega Fashion Hall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, due to the number of ARMYs eager to find more additions to their BTS collection, a seamless entry to the BTS Pop-Up store may call for more effort than just walking in. To avoid queues, advanced registration is required through Morningkall, an online booking platform. Walk-ins are still allowed for the impulsive, curious soon-to-be fans: but only five people will be allowed entry per slot. Physical distancing and crowd control are enforced to make sure you’re shopping safely in-store, definitely a break from adding to cart online.

If you don’t know yet, the meaning behind the South Korean boy group’s name is pretty cool: BTS is an acronym for ‘Bangtan Sonyeondan’ which in English, translates into “Bulletproof Boy Scouts.” Suddenly, their fanbase’s name ‘ARMY’ seems apt. They consist of seven members: RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. Their sound is described as pop with hip-hop influence, and they’ve garnered attention internationally for their music. In fact, if you’ve found a style inspiration in any of the members, they also have TinyTan animated characters based on each boy in the group. 

Their popularity has made for other brand collaborations like the Smart x BTS Passion with Purpose campaign, as well as the BTS Meal in fast-food chain Mcdonald’s that featured a McNuggets meal with two new dipping sauces recommended by the boys. They’re also big fans of luxury fashion brands like Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, among others.
