Celine Has Given a 1980s Reebok Trainer Icon the Luxury Treatment in Eight Versatile Colorways

There are few things more satisfying in fashion than a good old-fashioned remix. A modern twist on an old classic, if you will. Now, Celine and Reebok are getting in on this hybrid hype, joining forces to rework one of Reebok’s most recognizable silhouettes: the Freestyle Lo.
Launching September 10, the Celine/ Reebok collaboration beings together parisian polish and American sportswear, revisiting the original 1982 Freestyle Lo through Celine’s distinctly modern lens. The result is a meeting of two very different fashion languages - one rooted in Paris street style, the other in Reebok’s history of movement.
The idea is simple: take something with history and give it somewhere new to go. Celine and Reebok’s collaboration plays on the tension between heritage and forward motion by revisiting Reebok’s 1982 Freestyle Lo.
The collection centers on two versions of the trainer: the Celine/ Reebok Freestyle Lo and the Celine/Reebok Alldayeveryday Freestyle Lo. The former comes in eight colorways, giving the famously versatile low-top plenty of room to play with everything from sharp tailoring to your increasingly ambitious weekend wardrobe.
It is, in other words, a shoe designed to do what the best trainers do - go pretty much anywhere with anything. Reebok’s Freestyle has been moving through the decades since its 1982 debut, and Celine’s intervention gives the classic another reason to stick around.
The partnership will launch in-stores across 12 Celine locations worldwide, including London’s New Bond Street, Paris Montaigne, New York’s Soho and Tokyo Omotesando, as well as online at celine.com.
The Freestyle Lo has already had a long life; now, with Celine along for the ride, it is ready for another chapter.
