Chris Pine Looks Like Two Scoops of Sorbet on a European Vacation, and I Refuse to Be Mad at It

You do you, Chris.

Chris Pine, one of the four Famous Chrises, showed up at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend wearing what can only be described as the sartorial equivalent of a double-scoop serving of sorbet (peach and orange) taking a well-earned vacation on the Italian Riviera. You know, to just get away from it all.

The actor paired a flowing, camp-collar shirt in shades of marbled pink with very orange pants, bright white espadrilles, and a pendant necklace on a chain. It was a lot of look. Here's Wonder Woman 1984 costar Gal Gadot seeing him for the first time and declaring with a throaty laugh, "Oh, Chris! I love your outfit! Almost as much as I know you love fruit-flavored frozen treats in pastel hues!"

Here they are after he asked her, "But did you also see my gold pinkie ring?" Oh, it's good to have a laugh with friends these days.

And here's Pine looking cool as a freakin' cucumber on stage with Gadot and director Patty Jenkins.

Because here's the thing: He looks good. This is an out-there outfit, especially in terms of color, and that makes it an easy target. Of course I—and the internet at large—will have a little fun with Pine over it. But the trousers are perfectly tailored. The shirt hangs on him with just the right amount of looseness (and loucheness). The vibe is, well, a vibe. The shoes, the necklace, the ring—the smirk!—they all just drive it home. And I refuse to be mad at that.

Well done, Chris. Now please pass the sorbet.
