The Philippines Is One of the Cheapest Places to Buy Nike Air Force 1s
Sneakerheads will know that not every country is the same when it comes to buying a classic pair of shoes. But, aside from stocks, every country is different when it comes to prices. Just how different? Well, let's just say the Philippines doesn't have it as bad as we think.
CashNetUSA, an online lender, has launched a study into the countries that pay the most (and the least) for classic shoes. "We shortlisted the world's most influential sneakers and mapped their prices using the official brand websites in every country where they’re available. We also calculated how affordable each shoe is around the world using the World Bank's monthly average wage data," the site said.
The study focused on Puma Suedes, Adidas Stan Smiths, Nike Air Force 1s, Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars, Nike Air Jordan 1s, Adidas Superstars, and New Balance 574s.
While the Philippines was neither at the top or bottom of the index, it scored fairly well across the index. Notably, we ranked pretty well for Nike Air Forces 1s which are priced on average here for $107.82. To put things in perspective, Argentina's sneaker fans have to cough up $204.26 to buy AF1s. But, if you're looking for the ultimate deal, the same pair retails for $90 in the U.S.
Other interesting findings include that Philippines is the eight cheapest country for Stan Smiths, but Adidas Superstars are the fourth most expensive globally for us.
