Walk into any major mall in Metro Manila and you're bound to find a shop that can sell you a pair of minimalist leather sneakers. Sure, we're past the Stan Smith era and well into the reign of chunky dad sneakers. But minimalist leather sneakers are immune to trends, just by virtue of being minimalist and white. You almost can't go wrong with them.

And in the vast and saturated market of minimalist leather sneakers, Common Projects is an institution. The New York-based label and its cult classic, the Achilles, are widely regarded as the standard bearers of the category. Slim, crisp, free of any branding (save for the iconic foil-stamped reference numbers), and made in Italy with the finest materials, the Achilles is the most basic choice if you're looking for something more luxe than your Stan Smiths but not quite as flashy and expensive as Gucci Aces.

And while Common Projects has made many different kinds of minimalist luxury sneakers (and even boots) in the 14 years since it put out its first collection in 2004, the Achilles in all white is still the brand's cornerstone.

Previously, Common Projects was only available in the Philippines at luxury boutique Univers, in Rockwell. Now, concept store Assembly has announced that they will soon be stocking Common Projects as well.

Specific release details on price and availability have yet to be announced, but the mere thought of having more Common Projects retailers in the Philippines is something to be excited about.
