Donald Glover Gave Away His New Adidas Sneakers Using AirDrop

Donald Glover put a new twist on the old-fashioned sneaker giveaway by dishing out yet-to-be released kicks from his upcoming Adidas collab by pinging Coachella attendees via AirDrop.
On Friday, some festival goers received an AirDrop notification alerting them that “Donald Glover” wanted to share a photo. Those who accepted the request received a coupon for a pair of Glover’s Adidas sneakers, a distressed, cream-colored take on the brand's Nizza silhouette.
It's been a big weekend for Glover, who played the headlining slot at the festival the same night and debuted his new musical film, Guava Island, which is streaming for free on Amazon Prime Saturday.
Complex talked to one of the Coachella attendees who was able to land the kicks, and he told the website that he’s a fan of his new pair of sneakers. It "doesn’t beg to be sold on the secondhand market, but is one that you keep for the long haul," he told Complex. "It’s a shoe that is built for perfect, all-around use while still looking more fly than everyone else."
The shoes were free, but came with a few strings—those who collected their kicks were also given a “contract” to fill out, asking that they promise to wear the shoes, show up at Glover’s set, and keep the sneakers on for the rest of the festival. That last one sounds like a recipe for some mean blisters, but free is free. And the rest of us will have to wait—Addidas still hasn't announced a release date.
