Dr. Martens' 'Made in England' Line Features Two Top Tanneries

Better craftsmanship always goes a long way.

Dr. Martens makes the kind of ridiculously resilient shoes and boots you can rely on. Everything from the classic 1460 boot to the dressier, edgier Adrian loafer is built to last. And that its shoes can survive all kinds of thrashing and beating is part of the brand's punk rock spirit.

But if there's anything better than your run-of-the-mill pair of Docs, it's a pair of Docs made in England. These days, much of the British brand's manufacturing is done in Thailand or Vietnam, to make its products more accessible. Thankfully, though, they've kept a contingent of the manufacturing in their Cobb's Lane factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, where they can put quality first. There, they churn out shoes made with even better craftsmanship, using even better leathers.

For some of the recent models, Dr. Martens teamed up with two of the world's most well-known leather tanneries: England's C.F. Stead and America's Horween Leather Company. Both are famous for the premium quality of their leathers, which pairs great with Dr. Martens' silhouettes. The best part is that these Horween and C.F. Stead models recently arrived in the Philippines. Check it out:
