The Best Shoes from Duke and Dexter's Very Nice Spring/Summer 2023 Collection

For SS23, London footwear marque Duke and Dexter escapes the commotion of the capital to get lost in Morocco. The new collection comprises fresh silhouettes and updated classics that draw inspiration from the North African country's melting pot culture, all exhibited in a Marrakesh-set campaign that sees brand muse Aws Bob Fakhari touch base with his roots.
As always, penny loafers lead the pack. Some are done up in desert hues; others experiment with rattan and woven detailing; the rest are adorned with toe box graphics designed to transport you to the vibrant bazaars of Old Town Medina. Every pair, regardless of its design, is handmade in England from Italian leather.

The beloved Ritchie sneaker also makes a return, now lined with a breathable bamboo fibre. Most iterations are fashioned from suede for SS23, including the two limited-edition colourways (‘sage green’ and ‘sky blue’) informed by the Moroccan countryside, yet the long-established colourways of ‘white’ and ‘vintage white’ are still available in pebble grain Italian leather.

And then there’s the newcomer: the Commando, a boat shoe fitted with a deep-lugged rubber sole, available in an assortment of colours including a rich warm brown termed ‘tobacco' and a cactus green dubbed 'eden'.

The Duke and Dexter SS23 collection is available now on the brand’s official webstore, with prices starting at £160.
