It's no secret that fakes are big business. That's why criminals and terrorists turn to counterfeit goods to fund their operations. And currently, one of the top items to fake are the coveted Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1s.

So, it comes as no surprise that tons and tons of copies of the Air Diors are being reproduced. That figure is clearer now since the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) just seized 1,800 pairs of fakes of the collab sneaker.

Early this week, the CBP reported that the seized shipment, which is valued at over $4.3 million and originated from Hong Kong, failed the inspection due to "poor quality of workmanship, incorrect packaging, and previous experience with similar products."

The fact that thousands of the limited-edition Air Diors were casually being shipped quickly rang some bells.

“Counterfeiters trafficking in phony merchandise are not concerned about the American consumer or the damage their fake goods can do to our economy,” said CBP port director Timothy Lemaux. “CBP will continue to take every opportunity to intercept illegitimate goods and disrupt transnational criminal enterprises seeking to fund criminal activities with counterfeit or pirated merchandise.”

The Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers are probably the best sneaker to collect right now, and its value won't go down anytime soon—in fact, it just might keep on rising. On StockX, the sneaker is selling for $20,000 (approximately P1 million).
