Henry Golding Just Turned Black Tie On Its Head

The Crazy Rich Asians star is fast becoming our new style hero.

Crazy Rich Asians has changed the game: That much is obvious. As a refreshingly positive answer to the ongoing diversity question, there's a lot to be applauded. But save a slow clap for its leading gent Henry Golding. He's trailblazing elsewhere, too.

At the Singapore premiere of the box office hit, the 31-year-old turned black tie totally on its head, and did so without looking like an 80s game-show host.

By switching the usual tux for a metallic alternative via Tom Ford, Golding pivoted from the norm without upsetting the dress code. More daring than simple white or pastels, this is something entirely different that avoids being too loud.

The trick lies with the perfect fit and restraint shown elsewhere. Every piece fits the Crazy Rich Asians star like a glove, and simple monochrome provides a much-needed anchor.

Not that any of this is at all surprising. On the campaign trail, Golding has been responsible for some standout looks, so you can expect to see plenty more.
