The Air Jordan 1 High Lost and Found 'Chicago' Is About to Drop. Here's Everything to Know

The Air Jordan 1 High ‘Chicago’ – the unequivocal holy grail of trainers, the crep (in company with the AJ1 ‘bred’) that kickstarted the sneakerverse – is back this November to reclaim its throne. Well, kind of.
Introducing: the ‘Chicago’ Lost and Found.

This nuanced take on the Eighties classic is animated by the regularity of the AJ1 ‘Chicago’ (and similar treads) being misplaced in inventory cupboards prior to stockroom technology, hence the Lost and Found moniker. Fittingly, every pair is unique, even if the differences are subtle.
As part of their research, the Jordan Brand design team studied unworn pairs of the original to comprehend the shoe’s ageing process. They discovered the most common signs of ageing were cracked and faded ankle collars, yellowed midsoles and dried leather toe boxes, details that inform the throwback iteration.

Moreover, the team noticed pairs of the Nike-engineered high top produced in 1985 possessed a slightly larger sidewall swoosh than contemporary pairs. Thus, the Lost and Found version of the Bulls-inspired kick has bigger tick energy than, say, the Air Jordan 1 High ‘volt’ or the Air Jordan 1 High ‘pollen’.
And then there’s the packaging. The mismatched lid and the dusty, weathered look of the box further add to the story of an abandoned pair of shoes – one that intends to transport you back to simpler days. To exaggerate the nostalgia, the shoes come with a retro receipt and spurious sales stickers, and are wrapped in tissue that harks back to old-school sneaker advertisements.
