If there’s anything remarkable about how we dress now, it’s that we're big on nostalgia, whether its the grunge looks of ’90s or the Americana style of the ’50s. Take the case of Riverdale. The show not only pays homage to Archie comic books, whose first issue was released in the 1940s, it also gives retro clothes a modern spin (and puts neon lights and retro diners back in style).

If in case the show has been giving you some serious style inspiration, turn to the spring/summer 2018 collection of Penshoppe. Its beach- and road trip-ready pieces, in bright colors, bold stripes, and patterns, serve up a throwback vibe. Here, a quick guide on dressing up like your favorite Riverdale character, from resident good guy Archie Andrews to troublemaker Reggie Mantle.

1| The Champ: Archie Andrews
The copper-haired hero sports a clean, athletic, and all-American look in cardigans, henley shirts, and varsity jackets. Archie isn’t afraid of color and busy prints, too. A more summer-friendly version of his look consists of bright stripes and pops of color that match his fiery hair color.

2| The Big Brooder: Jughead Jones
As the brooder of the bunch, Jughead favors more muted hues and a grunge-inspired aesthetic. Should Jughead find himself vacationing in the the Philippines, however, we imagine him in cool tones like light blue, T-shirts with subdued patterns, and a more relaxed silhouette.

3| The Tough Guy: Reggie Mantle
Riverdale’s resident bad boy Reggie sports a modern prep look, something close to a refined frat boy, with rugby shirts and bold stripes. Think Ivy League WASP vacationing in the family’s summer home. A zip-up polo shirt channels preppy without being too dandy.

4| The Throwback: Kevin Keller
Just like the rest of his peers, Kevin’s wardrobe is inspired by midcentury fashion, but unlike Archie, his style is less athletic-inspired. Resort shirts with vibrant prints call to 1950s suburbia and will fit right in his summer closet.
