How to Find the Perfect Running Shoe For You, According to Nike

The sportswear giant released a detailed guide for pavement pounding.

A quick PSA for all you crazy men who choose to wear yourself out by chasing pavement (or grass or treadmill): The Swoosh has just released a visual guide on finding the most perfect running shoe for you. 

And it's not just the Pegasus, you know. Nike's all-time best-selling running shoe, with its responsive cushioning and propulsive feel, is the go-to for most, but there are really more models, with different technologies for specific needs, to choose from.

(But hey, if you are Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge, who trains in Pegs, continue as planned.)

As seen in the infographic, Nike divvies up runners into five types: the first-timer, the weekend warrior (chill pace), the serious runner (moderate to fast pace), the distance runner (those who “go far and fast”), and even the fashion runner (“I don't run—but I love the runway”). 

The chart becomes more specialized from there with questions and scenarios that will help determine what you really need: Are you training for a race? Why do you want to run? What sensation are you craving? What is your goal? 


Our goal is to survive, by the way.  

In total, there are seven suggested models, with two Pegasus models, the 35 and the Turbo, making a combined appearance of six times and the Epic React appearing three times.
