Justin Bieber Might Be the Next Horseman of the A-Croc-alypse
Some things in life are coincidences. Others are fate. I wrote about the Great Crocs Renaissance we are living in mere days ago, and today, my fellow Canadian homeboy Justin Bieber just so happens to hint at an upcoming Crocs collab. Hmmm. (Please just let me have this one.)
So yes, JB, who celebrated his first wedding anniversary yesterday, had an even bigger personal news day today, if you can believe it. He Instagrammed a photograph of Crocs floating in a pool with the cryptic caption “Soon” on the afternoon of October 1. And you know something’s cooking because the Crocs account commented a green heart on the post. Clearly not my first rodeo as an Instagram detective, thank you very much. Or anyone else’s, for that matter—Crocs stock went up 13 percent, to its highest level since 2007, today after Justin posted his 'gram. (Yes, Dad, I am reporting on the stock market!)
I tried to zoom in on both my phone and my laptop and still cannot, unfortunately, even offer a guess at what the Jibbitz that come on the JB Crocs might be. But what I can say on the design front is that well-documented Croc Supporter Bieber appears to have gone traditional for the shoe itself, selecting a classic, solid orange. Nothing wild or snazzy. You likely wouldn’t even think twice if you passed a pair on the street. Respect.

As I have previously covered, Crocs is a seasoned vet at the limited-edition, hypebeast-bait footwear game. Celebs and brands of yestermonths Crocs collaborations include Post Malone, Bad Bunny, KISS, PLEASURES, and Chinatown Market. The highly anticipated chicken-scented Crocs x KFC collab sold out in less than thirty minutes this July, leaving shoppers rightfully upset online. The Justin Bieber Crocs, if and when they drop (again, literally all the evidence we have is this one Instagram), will surely sell out in moments. There will be blood, tears, and resellers asking for an amount of money you could, potentially, use to buy a (very) used car instead.
Anyway, Happy Croctober (they have an advent calendar for Croctober, I did not make this up), from me and mine to you and yours. Certainly there will be more important JB Croc updates to come as the month goes on! Watch this space.
