Kanye West Wore Tiny Yeezy Slides to 2 Chainz’s Wedding

Because of course he did.

Saturday, August 18th was this year's most popular wedding day, with more than 28,000 couples exchanging vows before a total of nearly four million guests. That means somewhere around two million guys got spiffed up in their finest wedding-wear, and that Kanye West may have made the most bizarre footwear choice of all of them: He showed up to 2 Chainz's Miami nuptials wearing slides and socks. With a pair of oatmeal-colored orthopedic shower shoes, Kanye became the headline story of a wedding that counted a white tiger among its attendees.

Bizarrely, West's Yeezy slides didn't even fit—his heels could be spotted dangling over the end of the shoes. He paired the tiny slippers with socks, several chains, and a shirtless suit courtesy of Louis Vuitton, where West's longtime collaborator Virgil Abloh is artistic director.

Kanye's look even managed to outshine his wife's. In her neon-green latex dress, Kim Kardashian West would likely have stolen the show, had she not rolled up with a dude wearing a bare-chested suit and slides with socks.

Earlier in the week, West posted video of himself in a similar pair of Yeezy slides to Twitter, proving that they're the rare piece of footwear that can nail that tricky transition from "beach day" to "wedding formal."
