This Is (Probably) What a Tribal Lord's Face Mask Looks Like

Medical-grade face masks and respirators are the most effective against viruses, there's no doubt about it. That's not to say, however, that masks of other materials are completely useless. So, it's best to have several options at bay.

While many brands have released their own takes on the mask, supporting local businesses and craftsmen should be your priority. Case in point: theater group Karakoa Productions' Patik face masks.

Made of real leather, Karakoa Productions' face masks are a badass take with a cool combination of Visayan and steampunk influences. According to the group, the masks were created to support local artisans while paying homage to our tattooed ancestors.

There are two kind to choose from: face masks and respirator masks. No one mask is the same since every piece is manually stenciled, painted, and sewn with different Visayan patterns. The respirator masks are priced at P1,500 each, while the face masks range from P750 to P900.

You may be thinking, just how effective leather is but each purchase comes with free cotton pads as filters. Right now, all masks have been sold. But, don't fret, Karakoa Productions and Ranrick Diaz are making more soon.
