Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and More Kering Brands Are Skipping Fashion Week Again

Fashion month is coming fast. If you're expecting a star-studded front row, opulent sets, and over-the-top fashion—the whole nine years—well, we hate to break it to you but you'll have to miss Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen on the runway.
Reports have revealed that the Kering Group's brands are skipping the season entirely. It's not that surprising considering Gucci decided to go seasonless last year. The brand is only showing two collections every year, as announced by creative director Alessandro Michele.
But, the absence of Kering's many other brands is news. What does it all mean? We're definitely not seeing presentations within the fashion season's calendar. Instead, experts say the group's brands will be going off to present new collections on their own.
Digital fashion week, on the other hand, is a go. London Fashion Week has already kicked off the festivities, digitally, with almost 100 brands taking part to share their collections.
"Digital fashion week was born as a response to the social distancing and the difficulty of traveling imposed by the world health situation, but also wants to be a dynamic solution to the complexities of the present," CNMI president Carolo Capasa said in a statement.
