For its latest exhibition, Louis Vuitton tapped 200 visionaries—from fields such as arts and culture, the sciences, sports, global causes, and more—to put their own spin on the iconic trunk. The mosaic of talents and friends of the house includes Jean-Michel Othoniel, Jean-Philippe Delhomme, Nigo, and BTS.

Louis Vuitton 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition is being staged as part of the celebrations of Louis Vuitton's bicentennial birthday. The traveling exhibition started from the windows it appeared on video loop in August, and will continue to travel from Asnières to New York, Tokyo, London, and beyond.

"The windows were about focusing on each unique interpretation; now, by presenting the trunks together, the magic of the concept really comes through," said Ansel Thompson, Louis Vuitton's art director. Faye McLeod, Louis Vuitton's visual image director adds, "This project has always been about creativity—a real tribute to Louis’s ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. We get to see how such a cross-section of talents answered the same brief while also taking a moment to appreciate the man himself."

The trunks' global journey doesn't just end there. Once the exhibition concludes, Sotheby's will auction each piece with all proceeds going toward a scholarship program established by Louis Vuitton. The program aims to bridge inequality gaps throughout different creative fields, with the aim of ensuring access to artistic studies and development, regardless of financial means."

The LV200 project first raised €2 million after visionaries directed 100 percent of their feeds to one of 15 charitable organizations across 13 countries. The auction will be the second phase of the fully philanthropic undertaking. LV200 books and other collateral will also add to the fund supporting young and talented creatives.
