Louis Vuitton's 2054 Collection Is a Look Into the Future Through Virgil Abloh's Eyes

Virgil Abloh hasn't rested since he became men's head at Louis Vuitton. Apart from fulfilling his duties by designing per season, the American fashion designer has also changed the landscape by introducing mini collections. Early this year, there was the Staples Edition. And now, he's putting out more of his vision with the 2054 collection. Only this time, he presents the future through his perspective.
The capsule is an ode to the year the house was created, 1854. And it takes more of a technical look mixed with street-inspired accents. It was first teased by the Louis Vuitton men's artistic director late in October.
Described as a "performance-inspired tech line," the collection features 14 water-repellent pieces. From the puffers and parkas to the parachute trousers, all of the garments are multifunctional. As far as accessories go, Abloh has continued with the iridescent Keepall, which now unfolds into a sleeping bag. There are also hiking boots with military-inspired details.
Louis Vuitton 2054 will launch both in-store and online in December. For now, check out photos from the lookbook.
