Louis Vuitton Is Coming Out With a League of Legends-Themed Collection

If you thought the Timberland and SpongeBob collab was the unlikeliest partnership to ever happen, then do we have some news for you: Louis Vuitton has just announced its partnership with Riot Games for the League of Legends Championship.

League of Legends is one of the most-played games in the world. The global phenomenon gathers the world's best players for play-ins and group stages that will lead to the finals. The
For the game's finals, Louis Vuitton is creating a one-of-a-kind trophy travel case to hold the Summoner's Cup. The bespoke cup will showcase savoir-faire inherent to Louis Vuitton along with "cutting-edge, high-tech elements inspired by the League of Legends universe."
We'll have to wait and see exactly what this means, but based on Virgil Abloh's fall/winter 2019 show, we can only guess that the monogram will light up with the use of fiber-optic lights.
“The League of Legends World Championship is not only the climax of the tournament: it’s where the world of sports and entertainment come together in celebration of new legends to be born. Louis Vuitton has long been associated with the world’s most coveted trophies, and here we are today, alongside the Summoner’s Cup. We are thrilled to be part of such an iconic event,” said Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Michael Burke.
In addition to the trophy case, Louis Vuitton's artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière has designed champion skins and other digital assets. A ready-to-wear capsule collection, which we're sure will be a hit, is also in the works.
