Global fashion search engine Lyst has faithfully reported on what's trending in fashion during the different quarters of the year. And now, the website has released a report of its findings from the whole of 2019. Over 104 million shoppers' behavior was analyzed to come up with the data.

According to the dossier, what was big this year was sustainability and inclusivity, which have become necessities for brands today. But, one of the biggest trends was streetwear. Customers reportedly spent an average of $192 (approximately P9,800) on sneakers and $67 (approximately P3,500) on T-shirts, with Off-White being the most-searched brand of the year. Along with streetwear, another menswear trend was survival clothing with cargo pants, utility vests, and boots seeing a surge in searches and sales.

The report also listed down celebrities whose personal style choices drove searches, sales, news, and more. Timothée Chalamet landed in second place, thanks to his risk-tasking style, which featured a Louis Vuitton bib at the Golden Globes, a sequin hoodie at the premiere of The King, and his Haider Ackermann suit.

As for the breakout brands of the year, Daniel Lee's Bottega Veneta took the top spot, followed by Pyer Moss, Jacquemus, Paco Rabbane, Molly Goddard, Richard Quinn, Saks Potts, and Telfar. What's surprising is Alexander McQueen's oversized sneakers nabbing sneaker of the year. Not only did it top the hottest products in the first quarter of 2019, the sneakers was also searched every two minutes on Lyst.

The biggest collaborations were Off-White x Ikea, Sacai x Nike, Reformation x New Balance, Supreme x Stone Island, and Rick Owens x Birkenstock. Most of the pieces in these collections sold out within minutes. Currently, pieces from Off-White and Ikea collaboration are being resold for seven times its original price on eBay.
