The Met Gala Didn't End When You Think It Did

It was a long old eve of severed heads and Florentine vampires and Katy Perry dressed up as a candelabra at a drag show. Yes, this year's Met Gala—an ode to Susan Sontag's very deep thoughts on what it is to be camp—was fashion doing what fashion does best: showing off.
And it didn't end there. The peacockery lasted well into Tuesday morning, with three parties (a Gucci bash in a college gymnasium, a typical 'your name's not down, you're not coming in' affair at club Up&Down, and a throwdown at The Standard), offering good reason for another costume change.
