The NB 237 Is a Delicious 'New' New
Say hello to a brand spankin’ new sneaker by New Balance. The 237, a fresh new silhouette from the Boston-based company, is the perfect everyday go-to that blends old-school flavor with modern-day styling.
Taking inspiration from New Balance heritage designs from back in the day such as the 1300, 420, and even an old retro NB golf pair from the 80s called the Gator, the 237 carries an unmistakable vintage feel. But before you dismiss this as ‘old,’ hold up, there’s absolutely nothing about this sneaker that’s anything close to outdated. Familiar details such as branding on the tongue and heel tab are there to pay respect to tradition, but the oversized N logo makes another appearance and is consistent with that of the brand’s other new silhouettes such as the 327 and the 57/40, making them look nothing like your dad’s old trainers.
The sneaker sports a multi-textured upper made up of a mix of suede and mesh. Its lace-up construction provides comfort and stability to last you the entire day. The 237’s wavy rubber outsole provides excellent traction and durability for whatever abuse you want to put your pair through. The streamlined outline of the shoe is balanced by the fun abundance of color the designers put together for this new New Balance sneaker and we hear we’re in for a few more interesting choices the rest of the year.
The 237 makes its Manila debut in two exciting colorways. You can grab the “Team Red,” a spectacle of red, navy, green, mustard and grey, at New Balance stores, The Athlete’s Foot, Capital, Zalora, and Commonwealth. Meanwhile, the “Captain Blue,” a symphony of blue, yellow, green, black and brown, is available only at The Athlete’s Foot, Capital, and Zalora. While the metro’s still on lockdown, safely shop from home and order through New Balance’s Viber Community.
