Among all the great sneakers dropping this weekend (including the Air Jordan 3 'International Flight', the Nike Kobe 1 Protro 'MPLS', and quite possibly the Air Jordan 4 'Levis'), New Balance might just have a couple of sleeper hits on its hands. While everyone else is busy queuing for the hyped-up releases, turn your attention to NB's two new models: the X-90 and the 247v2.

The X-90 is a modern reinterpretation of New Balance's running sneakers from the 90s. Numbered models in the 990 series had some aggressive features that are echoed by the X-90, updated and upgraded for a sleek, comfortable lifestyle shoe. We're getting a fresh, dad-friendly blue-and-white colorway this weekend.

On the other hand, the New Balance 247v2, as the name suggests, is the updated version of their hit sneaker, the 247. The original 247 dropped last year and was easily one of the best new sneakers of 2017. The 247v2 takes it up a notch with a fitted upper and a reengineered sole. It's releasing in a bold 'Tritium Statement' colorway, which pairs black with solar yellow and Stabilo-like colors in the heel.

The New Balance X-90 retails for P7,495 at Commonwealth Greenbelt 5 and the New Balance 247v2 retails for P6,995 at The Athlete's Foot Glorietta and Rockwell.
