Classic Blue Has Been Named Pantone's Color of the Year, And It's Essentially Ateneo Blue

What it is and how to wear it.

For the past few years, we've gotten pastels (or near pastels) as colors of the year from Pantone. While it has been fun, sometimes we just like to go the more conventional route. And, that's what Pantone is giving us for 2020 by naming Classic Blue as its Color of the Year.

Classic Blue, according to Pantone, was picked for its "timeless and enduring blue hue, timeless in its simplicity." It's also a universal favorite that "instills calm, confidence, and connection." Because peace and tranquility is what we need after everything 2019 has thrown at us.

"A boundless blue evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky, Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute.

Blue is probably the easiest color to wear out of all the colors Pantone has given the title to. We're sure you already have the hue in your wardrobe. Here's some more inspiration for good measure.
