While much of Manila's stylish crowd now favors foreign fashion stores, don’t be quick to dismiss Penshoppe as a thing of the past. Since its launch a little over 30 years ago, the retail giant has gone a long way from its basic selections of logo T-shirts and denim jeans, evolving into a global fast fashion brand with a diverse array of styles and aesthetics.

Stepping up their game has paid off. To date, Penshoppe has opened 400 stores with Vietnam and Indonesia as some of their strongest international markets. The brand is also an e-commerce force in countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. And of course, there’s the ever-growing roster of local and international stars as their ambassadors.

In fact, their most recent collaboration has been with South Korean actor and model Nam Joo Hyuk, who looked stylishly old school as he slipped into Penshoppe’s special retro collection, a throwback to the bright colors of ’80s and ’90s with an homage to the vintage Penshoppe logo. It’s an impressive creative effort (and a self-aware move), harking back to their glory days as well as feeding this generation’s obsession with their childhood.

That’s not all that Penshoppe has in store. This season, they’re launching three collections. Aside from their old school line, there’s a line of streetwear for the holidays and a Justice League Collaboration that will send DC fans and streetwear enthusiasts lining up. Here, just some of the coolest looks worth checking out.

This year’s holiday collection sees a playful mix of textures, fabrics, and dark and metallic hues, all ready to ring in the festivities, but also versatile enough to wear year-round.

The devil is in the details. Tape slogans, high-contrast accents, and pieces such as resort shirts and bomber jackets lend a style-savvy and urban look.

Meanwhile, the old school collection plays up this generation’s penchant for nostalgia. Bright colors, crewneck shirts, and pullovers are centerstage in the retro line. These are perfect for nailing the quintessential ’90s look.

There are homages to Penshoppe’s signature branded tees, as well as the comeback of Penshoppe’s old logo. This green-and-gray colorblock pullover, in particular, is a favorite.

Whether you’re a staunch DC lover or a casual movie fan, there’s something for you in the Justice League collection. The line has muted tones and minimalist details, making it more versatile and wearable as it veers away from novelty. Think of it as a fitting gift for the comic book aficionado.
