Victoria's Secret Angels (and Friends) Heat Up Summer in Local Swimwear

Penshoppe leans on leaf-prints, cut-outs, pastels, and short shorts for the beach.

Victoria's Secret Angels Lais Ribiero and Josephine Skriver are here to remind you that blanket weather is bowing out to make way for the temptations of the sun.

Here they are palling around on a beach in Miami. The cool water stretches out behind them; the sky above appears endless. Lais, in a belly-baring suit, and Josephine, in a two-piece that reminds you of a popsicle, are serving toothy grins, best bodies, and summer envy all at the same time

Now, look: There is Lais, the eight-time VS Angel and wearer of the $2-million Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra, giving a coconut tree trunk a reverse hug. She's wearing a cut-out swimsuit that shows off, once more, her midsection (because her tummy needs ventilation always). Not to be outdone, Josephine, this time in a scuba-style two-piece, finds her own coconut buddy and gives it a dramatic hip bump.

Apart from tummy-baring cut-outs and leaf prints, the best friends of Angels are coconut trees.

These Angels are giving you a preview of what you want right now, but can't have just yet, because you need to finish another very fun presentation for the Big Boss. The duo wants you to know, too, that the colorful swim things that complete their professional beautiful person look are courtesy of Penshoppe.

Yes. Take a few moments to observe the pieces that are from the Filipino retailer's 2019 swimwear collection. Good, right?

Done?

Okay, now turn your attention to their friends, Paris-based influencer Francisco Lachowski, model Matthew Noszka, and fashion's bad boy (and obsessive broccoli soup eater) Jordan Barrett, because we have to discuss the best fit of your swimwear.

Nothing to see here. Just famous people Francisco Lachowski, Matthew Noszka, and Jordan Barrett wearing the right kind of swim shorts.

First, stay away from baggy board shorts or anything that hangs below your knees. As these fit, young men show, you should wear swim shorts that terminate above the knees. These will always look better.

And, yes, the shorts look like they're just a sneeze away from revealing bits and bobs, but upon closer inspection—and a review of our cardinal rules of swim shorts—these are actually the right length. Which is that point between your hips and knees. (If you are still nervous, try a larger size.)

The right length for swim shorts is never beyond the knees.

As for styles, Penshoppe's swim shorts get it right. Stripes, pastel colors, leafy patterns all say you are not taking calls right now from the office, because you are on a true vacation. Goodbye.

No doubt these suits will suit younger men (Chico, Matthew, and Jordan are 27, 26, and 23 years old, respectively), but older gents can do with a bit more fun in their beachwear.

A summer getaway is not the time to play it safe. Wear color, even pink.

Oh, there's one more thing these men in abbreviated swim shorts want to tell you: To really complete your beach look, you will need abs, too.

How's yours coming along?
