Get Your Hands On A Super Rare Square Rolex (Before It's Too Late)
Rolex are more trend-makers than followers. Still, they never truly embraced the square-dialed watch, and only a very limited few were ever produced. This means they're incredibly rare—more so than the vintage Oyster Perpetuals and Submariners that've set the watch world alight—and chances for collectors to indulge were slim. Until now, anyway.
Fourtané, a Californian jewelers in Carmel-by-the-Sea (bit like a fancy, less distressing version of that Casey Affleck film), has now listed a ref. 9347 online for a $30,000 (around PHP1.6M) starting price. Which is a lot of money. But the piece itself—a vintage model that boasts a gilt dial and the original bracelet—is very rarely seen on the pre-owned market.
What's more, the ref. 9347 is every inch the old school Rolex, thanks to applied indices and a statement yellow gold case.
Of course, it doesn't come cheap. But say you do want an alternative to the pricy Paul Newman hysteria, this may be the watch for you (or, more likely, a Russian oligarch). Head on over to Fourtané to to contact the dealer directly.
