Last month, Milan Design Week made its glorious (albeit calmer) return. The annual furniture fair, along with the special SuperSalone event, gave Molteni&C and Salvatore Ferragamo the chance to showcase their renewed collaboration and present a new installation.

Ferragamo Donna e Uomo boutique in Via Montenapoleone was outfitted to stage the merging of the Italian fashion house's DNA and icons from the Molteni&C Heritage Collection. Visitors got an immersive experience synonymous with the creations of contemporary design such as Gio Ponti, Aldo Rossi, Yasuhiko Itoh, and Luca Meda.

Molteni&C's Round D.154.5 armchair by Gio Ponti was given new life with Ferragamo's Gancini symbol more than 60 years later.

"Together with Round D.154.5, the windows of the two Salvatore Ferragamo boutiques are adorned with Aldo Rossi's iconic Carteggio secretaire, Gio Ponti's D.847.1 desk, Yasuhiko Itoh's MHC.2 bookcase, and Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda's Piroscafo bookcase, a project that turns 30 this year and is presented for the occasion in a special color from the Salvatore Ferragamo collection," Molteni&C said in a release.
