It's Time to Get Into Jewelry. Specifically, Diamonds.

Yep, men can wear diamonds, too.

We're in the middle of a men's jewelry renaissance, from the fun and vibrant kidult jewelry trend led by Harry Styles to the statement and layered silver pieces dominating the red carpet—and we're all for it. If you really want a high-impact accessory, though, there's really nothing like an eye-catching diamond piece. You might already think that diamonds are cool, but that it would be hard to pull it off as a guy. But, we beg to differ. That's exactly why we spoke with Carl Fider, founder of Tessera, one of the country's leading jewelry brands, to get expert tips to get you started with diamonds. Because, yes, you can become a diamond person. Here's what you need to know.

Consider Your Lifestyle

The first thing you need to figure out is your budget, according to Fider. "It's very important," he says. From there, you can figure out what you can actually get and what pieces to start with. After all, diamonds come with a pretty hefty price tag. Then, think of how it can fit your lifestyle. If you're someone that wears suits on the daily, a cufflink would be a good place to start. Lots of things come into play.

Start Small

As with anything: baby steps. Fider says a good place to start would be "a ring, a pendant, or a bracelet with a diamond." All three styles are versatile enough to be worn every day, anywhere. So, you never have to worry if it's appropriate or not. Maybe don't wear diamonds to an outdoor activity. (That's just us, though.)

Starting small also allows you to learn more about diamonds. It's definitely a process. Figure out what you like, what you don't like, and more. Once you've gotten into the groove of things, you can start to…

Have Fun With It

Diamonds aren't all just about being subtle or flashy. Believe it or not, there's an in-between. It can be fun and cool, too. Timothée Chalamet is proof that you can accessorize with a brooch, while Pharrell has shown us how to take the look further with not one, but two diamond necklaces. Right now, we're also into multicolored tennis bracelets—a great piece to have to make a statement in a kidult kind of way.

Think about it. A jeans-and-tee 'fit with a couple of diamond accessories changes the vibe. Instead of the combo being a normal, everyday look, it becomes a statement-making one. And all you had to do was accessorize right.
