The Adidas Sobakov Looks Like a Football Shoe From Another Dimension

While today's sneaker release cycles seem to give us a sensational new model or colorway every other week, it still isn't very often that you get something truly fresh and innovative. So when something like the Adidas Originals Sobakov comes along, it's hard not to take notice. While the Sobakov has the trademark sleekness and sock-like construction of any modern-day Adidas Originals sneaker, it looks entirely unique, mainly because of its psychedelic look. Check it out:
The design of the Adidas Originals Sobakov, like the Kamanda before it, is inspired by the brand's classic football cleats, including the Predator Precision and its signature curved stripes. The Sobakov also has a nice premium leather tab at the heel, but everything else is pure texture: a knit upper with horizontal ribbing and its most prominent feature: the weird-as-hell wavy gum sole. (Seriously, that sole looks like it dropped acid...in a good way.)
But its Slavic football weirdness is offset by this simple black/white colorway, so it's not too eccentric for daily use. Pair it with cropped wide-leg bottoms on regular days or with joggers for laid back weekends.
The Adidas Originals Sobakov will be available on Saturday, July 21, at select Adidas Originals stores, Sole Academy, and Commonwealth, for the full retail price of P7,000.
